Don't usually like albums this much after one listen. Which means I am ecstatic to get into it.

Everyone loves these guys so I'm gonna make an attempt to listen to em. Only heard one single before and I wasn't feeling it.

i don't like the second song at all but say nothing, the queen, old jaw, and repine all rule
|
| |
some of this is way too samey though, it's almost as if the vocalist only knows 4 different notes

"it's almost as if the vocalist only knows 4 different notes "
kind of like the new Tiny Moving Parts
last song is great

I'll Get By > this
Still a cool album and Repine has only grown on me since first listen. The somewhat harsher vocals on the last song were a nice touch too. I'll definitely give it more listens. 3/3.5 maybe. Might get that 4 if it all clicks like Repine did

Listening to one song off of this is the exact same experience as listening to the entire album

Totally agree with you on this one. I really like the dreary emotional approach they took. pos'd

review was eh. it's below your usual level of quality but it's not 'bad' so I won't neg. A few things I think you could improve (that Johnny hasn't already mentioned):
First, there's no real introduction to the review, you just move straight into it, and opening a '4' review with a negative comment isn't very convincing either. I know screaming is a matter of taste and some may say it's a good thing or whatever but the way you phrased it makes it sound like something that fans loved is now missing and the rest of the paragraph pretty much concretes that it's a negative point anyway.
"And with this exclusion" - this sentence doesn't need to begin with and, looks better without it too.
I don't want to pick the review apart but "Although they’re still capable of capturing sincere moments of anger and regret, with melodic guitar lines (albeit uninspired)" the stuff in the brackets should be put after 'melodic'.
"The different fills and tempos Haik utilizes stand out especially, when all that’s present is a subdued and melodic guitar line."- remove the comma
there's a few other small mistakes like the ones above but I'll leave it at this for now because it looks like I'm being really critical and the review's not that bad.
being more general about things, your second to last paragraph is very repetitive about the lack of screams, especially when it's already been mentioned right at the beginning. the review is also pretty critical for a '4', but that might just be me. Sorry this comment is so long but I've really enjoyed your past reviews whereas this one has quite a few problems.

couldnt explain it more better and simpler. This is a emotionless boring experience without any great melodys. disappointment of the year
