I agree with Toondude. I haven't listened to The Chase yet, but Become the Sky is actually pretty good. Far from perfect but still notably better than pretty much anything on the standard version of the album. Why they decided to leave it out as a bonus track is beyond me.

the only decent songs here are the ones where they just say fuck it and be really melodic and accesible, when they try to be heavy it almost always comes out awful

Well they never really did that sort of thing in Come Clarity except for the title track and a couple of others. Probably the reason why I didn't like that album as much as the next guy.
