I honestly thought this was WAY better than Overexposed, although not quite a return to the good old days of Songs about Jane or It Won't Be Soon Before Long. Let's face it, those days are over.

Like am I into alternative and am I too hipster for any Top-40 music? Not exactly. I'm a big fan of alternative of a lot of stripes, especially hard rock, but I don't loathe hit music because it's popular. It's in a better state of affairs than say, 4 or 5 years ago when people thought LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" was awesome because they could bump, grind and get all tingly over it.

Used to love these guys, its kinda depressing to see how hard they hit rock bottom though :/

I really think the hate is overblown. This is not really that great, certainly not as good as their earlier work, but better than Overexposed. Still a good ways to go for improvement, but I legitimately enjoyed some of the work on here.

you might be right, most of the comments here are saying the band is shitty or the single is shitty or the commenter bets the album is shitty. very few "album is shitty" comments, so i wouldn't say the hate is directed at the album itself (besides the reviewer)

and tbh maroon 5 doesn't deserve better treatment anyways
