Seeing the Cap'n 5'ing this makes me want to check this out.

Definitely gonna check this out at some point. I liked Versailles, and the way this reads it should be something else.

It really is Aaron, check it ASAP.
Also the new website + song previews for the new album: http://www.chateau-agency.com/special/heart/index.html
Track 7 is pure Malice Mizer worship and Heart will be a 8 minute song if I'm correct, getting super hype :D

It's definitely a step up from Versailles' material, and if you enjoyed that then the symphonic cheese here wont be an issue. Hope you enjoy it friend (:

Difficult to pick a best moment, entire EP is not much short of fantastic on first listen! I love the way the songs are joined together particularly.
Adagio of the Full Moon is so gloriously cheesy.

That last 30 seconds of Adagio are just so dramatic hahaha. Even if I don't think it's the best album I've heard this year, it's definitely the one I had the most fun listening to
Though Throne was definitely the highlight for me, I jam that song so often. Has everything I loved about the album in the one song, cranked up to 11

Dead Table/Sonata were probably my favourite two, though Throne was a pretty glorious closer. I think there's always room for albums like these in metal, as they're just fun to listen to. I can't deny doing some 'air-epic vocals' during the second half, when I really got into it.

and that's the key really. I understand why some people don't like it, but I'm so glad I could get into it
I'm happy you enjoyed this so much on first listen! If you find any other 2014 gems in your back catalog, let me know

The transition between Sonata to Adagio for me the crowning part of the album, such a massive backdrop then it just rises with the soaring choir. Gives me chills whenever that part's on.
@ComeToDaddy: I'd recommend Ningen-Isu's Burai Houjou, here's a song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLoUY1kA4ZY
Also, what's your AOTY so far?

| |
Album Rating: 4.5
I'll check that out tomorrow, it's midnight where I am and internet still isn't going solid so it keeps stopping/starting. First ~30s sounded dope
Even if it's a generic choice, AOTY is definitely Swans 'To Be Kind' for me. Playing it on vinyl is just something else. I've only been focusing on 2014 releases the past couple of months so I've got a fair backlog to work through. Spectral Lore, Gridlink (big old sucker for these guys) and Morning Glory are right up there, but I've honestly got like 10-15 4.5's this year so it's hard to narrow down

As usual your review is fantastic but I listened to this for about 5 minutes and short of being as dramatic as this band let's just say I'll pass. I'm pretty sure if I listen longer my rating will drop.
|
| |
Yeah, me as well. I think if it was dialed down a bit it wouldn't be nearly as much fun.

Same, especally mad repect on performing with those on stage in 2 hour shows and the immense detail in them. Must be so hot for him in gigs.

As good as this review is (and it is a very good review), if you ever did one for this Calc you would have to use 'like a fairytale come to life' as your summary.
