kind of but not really. the production is more clear and the songwriting is a bit different as well. you still know you're listening to a Botanist album however. give it a go mate and see for yourself.

@Amphoteric - it doesn't really sound too much like IV, he's seemed to strip away a lot of the doom in favor of a more appealing sound, but as was said above you can still tell you're listening to a Botanist record. This is by far his most complete sounding album.

I would say his first two were more Avant-garde while this is more straightforward. Yeah, agree the album goes out on a whimper instead of a bang.

I would probably struggle in that class considering my track record when it comes to taking care of my beloved domesticated plant life. ain't gone none green thumb y'see.

It doesn't have anything to do with that though, it's just a biology class that deals with plants, haha
