Solid review Mark, you're settling into quite a nice little concise groove with your writing.

"but it was precisely the reinterpretation needed in order [] breathe new life into the songwriting formula for these musicians." Think you're missing a 'to' here.

"the formulaic songwriting makes the almost hour-long runtime seem much longer" - always a shame when instead of enjoying the album you look at it and think, only track 5? Jesus. I've thought that a few times myself lately.

Yeah, I seriously have done that about 3-4 times over the past few days about this album. Not like it's a drag, but rather I feel like I have been listening to the album for longer than that.

just found out that Josh Gilbert did the vocals for Matter of Time. I think both him and Shane should collaborate on main vocal duties more often then just one song.

I saw them live a few months ago. It's not always obvious, but Josh actually sings a lot. Sometimes it's hard to tell him apart from Shane.

They share vocal duties a lot more live. But Shane is the better singer, by a long shot if you ask me, so I think it's a good thing that on record he takes the lead.
