One of the greatest moments in R.E.M history lies within E-Bow.

Note: ask any fan what the best R.E.M. albums are, and they'll say "The IRS albums and Automatic for the People". Well this is tied with the lowest rated IRS album at 3.8, more than any other non-IRS, non-Automatic for the People album. This fact makes me happy.
@zakalwe: That song gives me chills every time I listen to it. If I knew I was going to die that would probably be the last song I'd listen to. Or else Leave.

Some of my favorites of this album; How The West Was Won, The Wake-Up Bomb, E-Bow The Letter, Leave, Be Mine, Binky The Doormat, and Electrolite.
This is quickly becoming one of my most favorite R.E.M. albums

E-Bow is such a subtle middle finger. New 80 million dollar record deal with a giant conglomerate who granted the band freedom, no doubt hoping they'd do another 'Losing my Religion'
New single arrives and it's a solemn 5 min mornful confession over Christ knows what accompanied by a tortured Patti Smith.
The world was left scratching it's head.

How The West Was Won And Where It Got Us is best R.E.M. opener, come on Doof.

Good guess, yes that takes Drive's place. I personally prefer Drive though
There are four others:
Try not to breathe =?
Sweetness Follows =?
Ignoreland =?
Night Swimming =?

Hey Doof, can you explain how your concept works? I think it's really cool I'm just getting unnecessarily confused. So you take your favourite album by a band and then say what songs you wanted to be on the album after it?

Clay - Yeah, it's like creating the perfect follow up from their later material and also creating roughly the same track flow and balance (not every song I'm picking is the most obvious soundalike but often they are)
Dan you got four out of five and have me questioning my other choice now. Good work

Ah thanks, which one did I miss?

This isn't entirely consistent for me, but it contains so many highs. E-bow the letter is of course amazing, but Leave, Be Mine, Electrolite, New Test Leper and Wake Up Bomb are all so so good. There is really no bad song on here, but the record as a whole drags a bit
