Yeah, I think Ruddess is the MVP of this album for sure. I love the patches he used here

Breaking All illusions is where it's at. The rest passes me by all too easily

This or the self-titled album?
I'm going with this album

This all the way. The self titled was so damn cheesy and wanky

i didn't enjoy anything on the s/t

The only song I still occasionally listen to from the s/t is Surrender to Reason, and even that's beginning to wear thin.

@Artuma Well that's your fault now isn't it. Looking Glass and Surrender are fun. I think my rating of
this is a bit harsh but I can't be bothered to re-listen

The Enemy Inside is the only song I don't mind. The rest is below average, except maybe Behind The Veil

Only song I remember is that Limelight rip off one

Same here for the most part.

"Enemy inside and Surrender are fun."
there's a lot of better "fun" music out there

Trvth. And that was a typo, I meant Looking Glass not Enemy Inside.

like Fun.
i think a part of me attaches onto those "fun" songs purely because this is DT. If their next album is bad, I might just lose
all hope

I don't know if I'd ever lose ALL hope. I'm pretty much at the level where I don't expect much anyway, but deep down I still have faith

Bridges in the Sky, Outcry, and Breaking All Illusions are fucking incredible songs. Breaking All Illusions is my favorite Dream Theater song overall. I also love their newest self-titled album too. Anyone who says they went downhill since Portnoy left needs to have their fucking ears examined.

Well, imo this one is simply a brilliant comeback, being the purest DT album they could have made
without one of the band's core members. (with the exception of Build Me Up and the drum parts of
course).

Glad to see another fan of the album! Honestly, Bridges in the Sky and Breaking All Illusions probably have the most plays of any Dream Theater songs when I shuffle through my library.
