Ok I will. Aegaeon is close in that they are atmospheric death but when it comes to the heavy parts they are very deathcore and chug a lot. Not a bad band but Fallujah is just miles ahead.

My 'panties' are quite held but I must've missed something

aegaeon is deathcore through and through

I'm not usually a fan of tech death or deathcore (I don't really hear deathcore in this, but I've seen them called deathcore before), but this is really good.

their first ep had a lot of deathcore that they've dropped since their first full length

Their previous stuff was a bit deathcore, that's why you've heard them called it

Yeah I liked their last EP as well, I guess it's kinda like how a lot of people still call TBDM deathcore for some reason.

This is probably the best tech-death I've ever heard. I'm not far in yet but I've loved every second of what I've heard. This album boasts impressively dense layering and aural textures, and there are discernible (and enjoyable!) melodies to the songs. It's tech-death, but it's also music. Color me blindsided.

Update: four tracks later, I now think this is just stupidly good.

Among the half-dozen or so reviews on Sput for this album, this one jumped out at me because it summarizes this release accurately and succinctly. This is an excellent album with some epic tracks...IMHO Levitation & Sapphire are worthy of the TDM time-capsule I'm planning to bury in my backyard...but even the lesser tracks slap healthy handfuls of ass. Checked out Fallujah's new single the other day and I had to go remind myself what they sounded like at their absolute best. Been a week now and I still can't stop spinning this.

Wow that's a name I haven't heard in a while. Before my kiwis had even dropped a neighbor recorded a mix tape for me with Death, Atheist, Obituary, Sepultura, etc. That was like 1990.
