A much better debut album, than the extremely boring Neck Deep debut.

If only all the tracks were as good as the last one.

I've actually been digging the fuck out of this album lately. Lots of simple but cool guitar licks thrown all over.
"Spread Me Over Illinois" is stellar

Honestly the big thing holding this album back is that the vocalist still doesn't know when to sing and when to use his shout/half-scream thingy. Sometimes he completely disrupts the flow of a song.

Good stuff. The eps were catchier but I still need to give this more time.

Musically superior to their previous releases, however lyrically remains the same, incredibly mediocre, sometimes cringe worthy. All in all, their best work to date, and a pretty good album.

the 3 song ep is best Real Friends release. I have no idea where this compares to their other stuff but the average reception turns me off hard.

The bassist writes their songs and it sounds like he's still full of himself. The guy even does spoken word stuff and it's quite cringeworthy. It's pretty obvious the guy's got his limits. This band really has the potential to become something truly awesome but they keep falling back because of their lyrics.

His lyrics are fine, but the vocal performance is a little lacking here. Summer is probably the catchiest song here.

Summer is the best song on the album and I think it was a very good debut LP

"When I get stopped by a train on my drive home, I don't let it get to me like the rest of the world"
I call bullshit... It's the most annoying thing ever & the steering wheel needs at least 3 strategically placed punches so as to release frustration, but not the airbag.
Following 5 EPs, polarizing Illinois pop-punk act Real Friends belatedly get around to releasing their debut LP 'Maybe This Place Is The Same and We're Just Changing'. More versatile than ever, the concerted effort to vary tempo works in the quintet's favor, as does Dan Lambton's improved vocal range. Furthermore, the heart on sleeve lyrical approach is eminently relatable, even if the emo strong words border on over-bearing melodrama at times. Thankfully, this consistent album lacks filler & is easily digestible at just 33 minutes in length. Recommended Tracks: I Don't Love You Anymore, ...And We're Just Changing, Loose Ends & I Think I'm Moving Forward.

I met Kyle at one of their shows this year, dude is a total downer. Was just moping behind the merch table with that bum chin of his. I went out for a smoke and he was there and we shot the shit. He is as sad as his lyrics ffs
