Nah that paranoid android vid, the live performances that they did in '97. The fear of a technologically cold, machine dictated future. It was bleedin incredible stuff.

The ones that didn't 'get' it were the ones who said it was 'depressing' or 'music for students' or genuinely had no interest in rock orientated music. The ones who didn't like it still new it was something different.

Cyg is like, /mu/'s worst nightmare. I think it's hilarious. Also the Black Market was a bad album.

Anyways I wasn't really "into" music back in 2000 (Translation: I was like, four years old) so I'm not sure exactly what kind of impact Kid A had on the world besides a really negative one (Reading forums dating back to its release it was utter chaos and throat ripping, but then again the internet is the easiest way to gather hate groups) which is really the only impression I have is that this album is praised by people who think it's art because it was so different for mainstream music and for Radiohead. Which really is a terrible way of judging music IMO.

Though again, I was an infant, the internet isnt trustworthy, and critics certainly made my thoughts seems like it was the case. To each their own.

Kid A had a huge impact. Radiohead were all over the British rock scene back then, so imagine their HUGE following all of a sudden listening to the first few notes on Everything in Its Right Place. It shocked a lot of people and also made people more curious about electronic music, IDM in particular. It really influenced a lot of people to explore into the realm of electronic music
