Amnesia's the best track here. I also really love the second part of God Loves America and the Jarboe tracks here.
Too much filler, though.

This is a gorgeous record. Almost as good as White Light, honestly.

Not quite on that level for me, but this is gorgeous indeed.

Probably my least favorite Swans album up to this point in their career. Still very good and beautiful/haunting in parts.

The Other Side of the World is such a beautiful piece. Really great atmosphere

is this the nicest Swans?

so hear them now, all the dead-eyed souls
who've spent their lives and just grow old
hear the cries from the dead-eyed souls
who've spent their lives now and are turning cold

The Smiths were not a gothic band.

Yeah, it is weird in the review, especially since Morrissey dissed Robert Smith on several occasions, so mentioning them in the same sentence/context is… interesting. But I guess at times, Morrissey was aiming for goth-level self pity, so there we are. Swans didn’t play jangle pop either.

generally Swans being fairly nice and pretty here but digging the heaviness of "In the Eyes of Nature"
and it's followed by Jarboe track "She Cries (For Spider)" another of my favorites off of here

I agree on Nature being the best track here, but I also like Her a lot with those pummeling drums around midway and that spoken word passage. Great album overall, a little sister to White Light.
