That's what matters the most.Daniel has this incredible ability to write songs that transition seamlessly between aggressive and mellow sections. It's uncannily good. Band hasn't been the same without Langell and Kristoffer though. Such a brilliant rhythm section.

There's also lots and lots of layers to the music which is nice comparing to other progressive metal bands.

I didn't quit Omair. I'm never too far. I even recently covered a Moody Blues' review lately under ProgJect. In Search of the Lost Chord. Sup man!

Jethro's always lurking in the shadows with his flute. The World cup has been keeping me busy recently, and of course music. Recently got back to listening to POS gain, don't know why it took so damn long.

very well put, it never feels too jarred and forced but instead is so smooth and flowing. They are defintly amongst the top of modern prog (I think they kick the living shit out of Porcupine Tree and DT, but thats just me lol)... and your review is seriously great man its convinced me to spin this again tonight

@Spaceman: Thanks, yeah dude they're definitely in the elite bracket.
@Jethro: I just enjoy football. Spain was my first team, and Germany is my second. The top teams aren't looking convincing so far.

basically, the album is first of all a concept one, and I think the entirety of its music is to be seen under this perspective. Songs that seem odd or incompatible with the its flow, can be better understood this way. The basic story, which is kinda obscure and immune to total penetration, produces the atmosphere of the pieces, as well as their tempo and general character.
Be as a non-concept album is probably a vague one, with some flashes of genius and the usual flattering about Daniel's vocals etc

This album took me the longest time out of all theirs, but they're all rewarding when they sink in.
One of the more interesting, daring, and actually "progressive" prog metal bands
