haha sweet glad to know that it does the album justice

the whole review, but especially that beginning paragraph, is actually a reflection of some shit I've been going through... without getting into the details me and my girlfriend have been in a rough patch for some time now and I was really scared of loosing her, but I realized that this is just my fear overtaking my love for her, and I'm coming to terms with realizing that I will always have myself and as long as I keep growing and pushing my limits I can always be happy, she's just the cherry on top and we can both be happy with or without each other... I like to believe in fate and she has taught me so much about life that maybe thats the reason she was in it in the first place you know? maybe its time for me to graduate... but if its not thats even better haha

okay my corny love rant is over

This happens to be one of my brother's favorite records of all time actually. Now that more genres of music have sank it, I think I'll embrace this more.

Oh, quite a bit. That's the beauty of finding more and more music. It sometimes inspires you to re visit stuff you either just never listened to again or you thought you hated

i feel like when you're young and first start listening to music, you quickly develop a really

specific taste and build walls around that, convincing yourself "rap is terrible" or "metal sux" or

the classic "pop is garbage" but eventually you realize the redeeming values of all music and can

start listening to things with an open mind, and are even able to say that you can understand why an

artist is appreciated without even liking them yourself

Believe me, I've tried with rap again and again, even now. And just can't get into it unfortunately :/ I hear ya about that last part though. That's how I am with the beatles pretty much.

100% agreed. I really have not been able to get into death metal and the like at all, but I respect the hell out of it

raps probably the last thing I'd thrown on by myself, but I like a few albums a lot and get why sooooo many kids listen to it... definitively prefer the beatles to any rapper tbqh

I'm no where near the biggest dm fan but again its something that I appreciate, a lot of sput would probably agree that Cynic's Focus is a good gateway if you're interested, same with Death to get a closer straight up dm sound

The same goes for black metal for me: I've found that the pure black/death metal is not for me whereas it being fused with other genres is amazing.

I like post-metal a lot but so far black and death metal just haven't clicked for me at all. I'll definitely give it another shot though because I'm definitely intrigued by it

beautiful review. as usual my stick-in-the-mud contrarian belief of the world prevents me from believing that you can just break down stuff into love and fear and call them polar opposites, I think that's far too simple, but that opening paragraph is beautiful nonetheless. pos
