i maintain that the title track on Jane Doe is the only acceptable fadeout. i realize this is electronic music where the tracks are intended for dj sets in which they'll be crossfaded into the next track continually, but it just feels lazy and really disrupts the flow of an album like this when damn near every track fades out

I can agree with that, but I think Flutter's works perfectly since it's the EP's closer, and more romantically, I feel like it signifies the dissolution of Autechre's early IDM roots, an ending of a chapter.
