Yeah it's a great album. Load me up is a song i've listened so much during high school.

Brilliant songwriter and artist. My favourite. Beautiful Midnight is easily my favourite album of his, followed by Avalanche.

The radio singles don't do this album justice. It's the songs that didn't get radio play that are the most musically interesting and lyrically thought provoking songs on the album (A Boy and His Machine Gun, Suburbia, Giant, etc).

This is also my favourite Matthew Good album.
For some reason, my favourite song is Jenni's Song.
I remember seing him at the Congres Centre in Ottawa years ago. An idiot threw an empty water bottle at him, he got pissed and left. Wish I could've seen his whole set.

This is one of the most important albums to me, thanks for reviewing! I wanted to make a slight correction to the lyrics of "Giant" the song goes ... "When you blow out, like a dead star, it reminds me how uniform your beautiful is". I agree that Suburbia is the best song, so haunting and yet uplifting, and a perfect center piece to the album (along with I Miss New Wave and Failing the Rorscach Test)
