Listened to Threshold and gotta say it wasn't too impressive until the last part like Jethro said. 3.5 is all I can muster for it, but I'll still give it another shot and this one too.

The second listening to Threshold gave me a better feeling overall even if some songs always sound dated (the band tend to sound dated here and there so).

To support what KILL just said, here's a highlight from In Search of the Lost Chord. Legend of a Mind;

Thanks Jethro. I'll hopefully get to see the Moodies live later this summer with a friend of mine who loves them to death. I'm trying to get into them, but yeah they can sound a bit archaic.

Band manages to compose some great songs in every albums they release. I'm pretty sure they'll have the decency to play their best cuts, so it can happen to be a great show.

edit; And great song indeed!

A more ''modern'' Moody Blues here. From Long Distance Voyager. The Voice;

Yeah that's a good tune. I have their "best of" album so I'm familiar with some highlights.

I like this one better than Threshold. Can't go wrong with lots of mellotron, flute, and sitar ;)

It's all true, but Threshold contains Have you Heard P.1/The Voyage/Have you Heard P.2 which greatly increase the value of the album.

@Ross22, yes indeed.

@Greg, thanks my friend.

Have seen the Moody Blues twice in the last five years and their sound surprisingly holds up quite well compared to the first time I heard them in the early 80's. (they have been together for like 50 years I believe). On The Threshold of a Dream is a fantastic listen. Have You Heard and The Voyage are on the level of any top prog songs I've listened to. Can't believe this group can't even get a nomination from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Further proof that Rolling Stone just doesn't get it.
