Saw them twice - both times there were technical difficulties with the bass amp and they had to pause for about 2 minutes whilst it got fixed. The second time they had this new vocalist who would forget lyrics to songs (mainly Born in a Hurricane)
They're not the most polished live band, but they're far from the worst I've seen.

The bass is too high in the mix on their new one, everything else is buried under it.

I, Vigilante was a good album but everything they did after was a little bit hard to stomach.
|
| |
Vigilante is excellent yeah.
Digging the new one for what it is but the production is easily the biggest problem
|
| |
Loving the new one a lot more as it goes on, the mix of hard hitting riffs and post rock is just fucking awesome

Bronze is pretty disappointing - no nuance and barely any poetic substance compared to Mankind and Vigilante. I'd argue it's less brutish than the lyricism in WLG, but the vocals are unending drones or haggardly female caws. Instrumentation is solid, albeit heavy handed on the hard rock part and not as varied as it used to be, nor as climactic.
Best tracks are 'No Fun' and 'Future Shock' (yes, the bonus track) - but what the hell is the track 'Turn to Stone' I still can't wrap my head around it.

Thoughts on its production?

Tad too muddy, I'm not too keen on the sound of the snares but I can't put my finger on what exactly it is.
|
| |
Muddy is the exact word I was looking for. It bothers the hell out of me and I can't even understand what's going on sometimes.
Overall I find the songwriting to be pretty dope.

I get sad then I realize that I can just go listen to Mankind and then I do

Or Vigilante

Can't believe this is the only review they have on the site.
Anyway, in love with the singles released so far, really hyped for the new one.

There's reviews for Resurrectionists and Mankind, aren't there?
Didn't realize there were more than one single - Nebulas was pretty neat, gonna have to check the rest out

I'm dumb, you're right JJ.
Did you jam the other singles yet? "To You I Give" is incredible.

I'm really digging them! The Great Escape Pt. 1 and Hunok Csatája are bangers

I may even end up enjoying this record more than WLG

The new one could be my favourite of them since Vigilante. Really stoked.

Great Escape is dense as fuck, as expected, but amazing new album.
