for the record, .hopesfall. has been through many lineup changes. Especially their singer, which explains the change in lyrics.

I have the CD and i don't disagree one bit on your review :thumb:

Thanks again for recommending them to me, Chris. 'The Bending' is absolutely incredible, it just took a few concentrated listens to get into. By doing this, you've made my choice of what CDs to get even harder, as I really really want this one too. :upset:

Very good review by the way, Darknessca.

I agree with the comments about the 'spacey' vibe, it's very much a part of their live sound too. The amount of times Jay would stand still and 'feel' the music was the most domineering thing that they did live.

Also, on Buddy's comment about the guitar work, I also agree.

It's not a bad album, actually. It's not usually the stuff I'd listen to, but I did end up having to listen to a whole set of theirs, and then downloaded this album. Solid stuff, a bit 'ooer aren't you emo' in places, but whatever.

My band supported them, too (the reason I had to listen to their set.) That'll always be a good memory, because it was a great gig and I pulled a gorgeous girl who went on to be my girlfriend for a while!

Regardless of how hot of a girlfriend you had for two weeks, you are off base about the emo stuff. Hopesfall rarely gets any emo in them especially on this CD.

Two months actually.

Meh, I do suppose my idea of emo is a bit distorted. Hey, I still like the album though, so it can't be all that bad!

Two months. She told me it had been only two weeks and she was ready for something bigger and better. Oh well. Ya, emo is good as is this album. True be told man.

I don't know if anyone in this forum knows who the band Hum is, but if you do, you can tell that hopesfall was definitely inspired by Hum when they made this album and on some of the songs off of frailty of words. This is seen especially in such songs as "Lament," "Escape Pod for Intangibles," and "Waitress." In fact, the lead singer for Hum, Matt Talbott, produced "The Satellite Years" and I read from one interview that Hum was many of the members' favorite band. Although Hum was not hardcore, the similarities between the bands are undeniable.

Hum is one of my favorite bands and Hopesfall is my favorite hardcore band, and, while their other CDs are good, this CD is the main reason they are. I loved every song on the CD, except for maybe tracks 7 and 8. Other than those, its hard for me to say which is my favorite, but I'll go with Waitress, Dana Walker, or Dead in Magazines as my top 3.

Good stuff, I like this a lot. Nice play with shouted/harmonic vocals. The a bit more rock like aproach on 'A-Types' isn't bad as well, but I like this one just a bit better

Great album, but A Types is slightly better in my opinion.

I once listened to "Escape Pod For Entangibles" all day long once and nothing else. It reminds me of Pink Floyd somwhat.
