Check out The Voyage and the Infinite EP, that's easily his best stuff imo.

I feel like he's one of the few electronic artists that I've heard where he truly knows how to write compositions in such a creative yet blissful way. He knows how to write shit unlike a lot of other artists who wear the same genre tags.
It's such a shame that his original plan for these albums managed to fall apart because damn I feel like it would've been so much more than what we got now, not saying that I disliked both parts 1 and 2.

eh, not really. It's not entirely my thing but most of the stuff that I've heard from "similar artists" (which isn't really THAT much) just sounds the same to me. Haywyre just sticks out to me for some reason.

"What do you mean?"
These albums were going to be framed as this massive "conceptually" driven series with each album taking influences from different landscapes (this album being deserts) if I recall correctly. It must've been too ambitious for him or he lost interest because the time between Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 was a massive gap and he's shown a lack of interest in keeping the series going.

His computer had a massive corruption problem that led him to delete like 95% of his stuff. He managed to save like 3 songs and a couple other demos and that was it.

That's a shame

"Oh lol yeah this doesn't sound like a desert anyway"
I read an interview where he mentioned it, the concept was more philosophy centered or something and even said he thought his biggest mistake with Pt. 1 was that he didn't really convey his concept musically. So I was wrong.
Also, I think songs like Schism and Doppleganger are pretty desert-y sounding tracks.

He did a piano/orchestral song called "Moral Compass" that I was really looking forward to, guess it was a part of the casualties.

Ah damn, that was what happened, I remember now. He showed up on the Monstercat subreddit thread about the announcement and he was just totally defeated about it, it sucked.
