Amazing, might be my favourite album but I'll need to listen some more. Those subtle background textures seem to be the thing that they were always missing. They were always good, with moments of greatness but now they're great with moments of excellence. Like I said, I'll have to see if I still feel the same after listening some more.

Very well-written review, but it reads like a 4 to me.

I totally disagree with Hats Off To The Bull being a "heavy" album. It was safe and overly melodic.

With that said, this is possibly Chevelle's best album yet.

Good review but it definitely reads more positive than a 3.5

They prove that their previous album was only a fluke. This is not revolutionary or anything, but really solid nonetheless, on par with their early stuff.

Curse.

As an album, this is basically a really mature Wonder What's Next. I like it a lot.

Nice review, excited to check this out. I have a soft spot for this band. I love Loeffler's vocals.

Although as some others said, I don't necessarily agree that HOTTB was heavier than most of their previous albums. I actually think Vena Sera and everything that came before that were heavier than that album. I like hearing that they broken through their formulaic approach, I've been waiting for that their entire careers.

I think HOTTB and Sci-Fi Crimes are their least heavy. This album is a huge step up from them both

I really dug Sci-Fi Crimes. HOTTB was really underwhelming, though.

I actually loved Sci-Fi Crimes and didn't care for HOTTB that much; some of their strongest songs are on Sci-Fi Crimes imo. @Curse, what's your favorite Chevelle album?

Very well written. I agree with song length in early listens since I only have a few listens myself. I still need more time to formulate my score but this review touches upon many initial feelings I had about the album.

Excellent summary as well.
