People complaining about the production need to have their ears checked or don't dl quality rips.
Jesus Karl 2.5 to a 4 wow.
My mind was wandering while listening to this and Thou. Winter has taken a toll on my brain and for a while there, I was hating on most metal. I shook it off quickly and I'm back to my old ways!
I still think this is bland as fuck.
Totally understandable since this is primarily a very mechanized album.

The black metal is so miniscule on here. I would file this under industrial.
hmm, thats not helping. oh well its already downloading!

Pffff the black metal's there just as much as before. It might sound more "mechanized" as Wiz puts it, but I feel like that industrial sound just makes it feel more evil.

Depends on what you consider black metal. The vocals I would consider and some of the faster stuff would be too but let's face it, there's a dominant stomp throughout and that my friend is what you would categorize as industrial. Their debut was 100% bm and then they started using Sanford Parker as their main keyboardist/ producer on Monuments to the End of Time and he really mixed it up a lot. The bm element faded a lot on here.
Thurston Moore sounds like he did nothing on here btw. It's not like he brought in an element that wasn't already on Monuments. Waste of talent.

I don't know about that one. If you listen with headphones there's a lot of feedback-y guitar noise going on in the background that reminds me of SY. And the intros to Lungs and Swarming Funeral Mass? I hear Moore all over those ones.

I tried listening to Sonic Youth when I heard he'd be on this album, but the first song I listened to sounded awkward and I didn't make it any further. I should probably try to do that again some time.

Sonic Youth is just noise.
I mean that in the best way possible. Intrigued to spin this.

As a huge fan of thurston Moore and anything that musically resembles any era of Blut Aus Nord, I'm really happy with this record.

I highly recommend it. great individual performances that gel together well. Really cohesive for a project that has so many well known individual members.

It's pretty close for me, I can understand that opinion as they're relatively different albums.
