Kreator are the worst offenders when it comes to loudness war
Testament have meaty guitar sound but in no way does it hinder the remaining elements
Sodom have a cringe paper-thin tone

even if i were to agree tho, thrash is more harshly impacted by this than like, idk, vader's new records or behemoth's

Yeah, definitely. But dm overall relies on a different kind of sound so overproducing it would be like giving lo-fi bm a crisp production. It would just ruin the experience.
