Only cool people use over-the-top pseudo-metaphors to vaguely express a point that makes little to no sense

You're very critical of yourself, mike one-nine-seven

Very critical indeed

Not really. I make a lot of mistakes on purpose because I'm a little uncomfortable reviewing (I'd rather people just enjoy the music) and I try to make mine a little entertaining

Oh ok that's... an interesting way of looking at things

Firstly, your reviews are really good and for the most part they don't come across as uncomfortable to me

Secondly, it seems weird that you'd apparently put so much effort into this if you'd rather people just enjoy the music

Erm, I like the site in general, reading other peoples thoughts and tastes in music, occasionally finding new bands/artists to check out, maybe posting links to some music I make to see what people think. It's a lot of fun

Yeah I knowm I just find it weird that you'd put in all the effort to review

Its not like you have to do reviews to be on the site

Anything under a 4 for this should be illegal.

My first vinyl, so I have a lot of respect for this album. Nice review too.

I think the reason Elliott Smith has such a great voice is because he has such an awful voice if that makes any sense

Kind of how I feel about the singer of the Silver Jews too

I'm not at all being sarcastic, this is a genuine thing that I feel

He sang so quietly because he didn't like his own voice I think

He sang so quietly because he didn't like his own voice I think

fair, and its a huge distinguishing factor that makes him so recognizable.

like, what i said was not a diss or a slight at all, obviously some bad singers are just bad... but there are some cases
where its like well you sure aint a 'good' singer but for some reason thats why this works so well

I don't really think he ever tried to be a good singer, from what I've heard he was always doing pretty simple things with his voice, I think I read at one point that he tried to not be over the top with his singing to not reduce the effect of the music/lyrics
