I soured on these guys over the years but The Holy Bible will always have a special place in my heart. This was super inconsistent from memory.

first couple of tracks don't do much for me, but after that this stuff is consistently fun throughout!

I'm kinda digging this more than The Holy Bible one, tbh.

When you say the first few songs I hope that doesn’t include Little Baby Nothing, Motorcycle Emptiness, and You Love Us... actually the first quarter of this album is practically untouchable imo or it could just be the starpower of having so much great singles being back to back. But yeah there are some really great deep cuts towards the end and as much as I adore The Holy Bible I can totally see why you’d like this more

i'd say the album really starts with motorcycle emptiness, that track is dope, but the tracks before it are all meh/uninteresting to me.

I've been a Preachers fan for a while but I'm still yet to give this a spin.

Spotify should upload the US versions of this album and the holy bible.

'Motorcycle Emptiness is the peak of brit pop'

Even better, the term 'Brit Pop' hadn't even been coined in 1992

Odd how they did get thrown into the ‘Brit pop’ thing with Everything Must Go.

Funny to release a bargain bin worthy album called 'Everything Must Go'

Ok, 'All Surface No Feeling' was an immense closing track and 'Design for Life' is 'Design for Life'...but still

A lot of second hand copies of this in the day - anything £2 and under value I agree for those two songs and ‘Small Black Flowers’ if you’re feeling saucy

I know "Motorcycle" is the obvious stunner but "Little Baby Nothing" is almost as good and there are so many other fantastic tunes here. "Nat West," "Stay Beautiful," "Condemned," "Methadone," "Spectators" - honestly every song brings something to the table, and there's something to be massively appreciated about a double album that can pull that off
