Tundra, any specific song recommendations from Nightmares pt.1 and 2? I have a 4 hour drive this afternoon and am lining up a bunch of stuff to listen to. Love this album and wanna hear more of their later stuff but don't want to use too much data.

Perfecting the Void, Winning where losing is all, Second to none, Alter, I, Nemesis for part 1
And Faint pulse of light, Mind mutation, Built on Sand (my absolute favorite out of the two albums), inescapable dream, Missery Mantra, Heavy lies the Crown for part 2, although all are bangers imo lol

Legend! There were some quality tracks in there, you're right!

Haven't spun this in several years but this always felt like bargain bin melodeath to me, to the point that it was almost irritating

Eh, you know what to expect when it comes to a band with Christian Älvestam in. He knows what he likes and he does it fucking well. Absolutely disagree about this album being bargain-bin quality as I've heard some reeeaaaallly average melodeath and each track here is above a 7/10.
Wirethrone / Gravitational Lensing / For Aeons Past / Clandestiny Now (and even Lethean Tears) are stone-cold classics, my G.

I only listened to each one once but if I remember correctly my favourites were 'Winning Where Losing Is All' and 'Built on Sand'. Will be relistening today at work!

Christian Älvestam is basically one of the best singers I know. And this album might very well be the best thing he took part in.

dude hard agree, so many freakin bangers on this thing

My sole complaint is Clandestinity Now, after so many breathtaking songs the album ends with an epic that's just... okay? It's quite unsettling because it simply doesn't match the level the majority of tracks displays. Otherwise would have been a 5.

I kinda agree. I do like Clandestiny Now but it could probably have been a bit more polished.

Disagree on that one, Clandestinity is one of the best songs for me

Just wanted to come back and say that I totally disagree with my own shit opinion from a few months ago. Clandestiny Now is a great song. The Dimorphic of X months ago is a dumbass. Listen to the Dimorphic from X months ago instead.

haven't jammed this in a hot minute, this and pitch black progress are top

Owh yeah. Although the intro of 'Through Night-kingdomed Gates' is a blatant ripoff from Evergrey's 'Blinded'.
"this and pitch black progress are top" -> Deviate From The Form remains one of the best bonus tracks ever to this day. Those guitar solo's are god-tier.
