Yeah, I love ambient stuff as well, but that genre doesn't see a whole lot of vocals like this release. It just starts to grate on me as the album goes on. I wish there were a few more like This is a Trick, honestly.

I have never really been a fan of Chinos voice so probably wont listen to this.

That's just the main reason I don't like them, but I am not particularly fond of their music either.

I don't find it appealing for whatever reason. I actually own an album by them (which I thoroughly disliked) and have heard multiple songs from Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan. Just cant get into them.

He's certainly a one of a kind voice and takes some getting used to but he's one of my favorite singers now. I can see him getting irritating to some though.

The Deftones are originals with a defining sound. That is why they are polarizing, it's not a surprise that someone doesn't think that "they aren't very good".

That's true, although with Ec's particular taste in music, I would think that they would be right up his alley.

I will admit that I do like a few of their slower songs. Their upbeat stuff (at least what I have heard) is very chaotic sounding to me and not in a good way. I found it difficult to focus on what was going on, and it was very irritating.

I suppose if I took the time and got used to it, I may end up enjoying the band on some level. I just don't know if I want to take that time to do so, especially since I have tried several times already.

That makes sense, signal, cuz I have had multiple people suggest them to me over the years.
