i probably won't - i'm always down for something a little obscure. gonna throw this on as soon as this moonlit sailor album finishes. great dig btw. cannot get enough of that album. seems we've been enjoying a lot of the same stuff from 2014 so far

i actually dig the opener.

so far this is very musical and varied, quite enjoyable. impermanence is so fucking catchy - love the racing piano. the vocals kind of remind me of tom waits

cool that you like it, pretty divisive sort of album, wheelbarrow is amazing on there so inventive

this is almost cabaret-esque. i feel like there should be a lively choreography and perhaps other visual aids to go along with this lol -- especially for the wheelbarrow

How can ya like something too much? If it's good and ya love it then what could be wrong

Solid album but repeats itself a bit. Could have been a 4, if ony with some alterations. His voice is really good, too.

this is much better than i thought. i've always had a soft spot for music that walks that line between melancholy and straight-up creepy, this kinda fits the trend. black river is fucking great

This band in general is one of the best unsung acts in music right now. Self-titled's still my favorite, but the atmosphere on this thing is incredible. If their other two records are like walking through a creepy carnival haunted funhouse as a kid, this one's like revisiting it as an adult after the carnival's been shut down and everything's spent several years falling apart.
