I’m always disappointed when the fade out starts on “Drive.” I want it to go on, and on, and on . . . It's an excellent album--great review!

The only bad thing about this is I now feel that my winter-themed review of Bird of the Water would
be awkward to publish considering how you've opened yours lol. Great review, man. Have a pos.

Sacred Bones is off to a good start, this year.
Very good album. And wonderful review. Kinda makes me ashamed of my own writing skills.

I enjoyed this a lot more than her self titled album. The whispery vocals make it.

"drive" is fucking amazing.

I saw her last night. One of the best shows I've been to in a long long time. She was accompanied by a violinist who also would switch off to slide guitar and a cellist who also covered keys. Marissa plays her acoustic through an old silverface twin reverb so it really pushes up the treble tones of her acoustic and makes it rather haunting. It sounded like she used a chorus and a ton of reverb on her 12 string songs that made it sound a bit disturbing but perfect at the same time. Her set was all of July, 55 Falls, and then a medley of Bruce Springsteen's I'm on Fire into Townes Van Zandt's Tecumseh Valley back into I'm on Fire for the encore.
