The Vines are cool but it's a sad state of affairs when an albums first single is not even two minutes long. Are we really that impaitent?

from reading all of your reviews, i have come to a conclusion that music is really just based on opinions and that you should just stick to what you think insted of trying to convert others into what you think. all in all this was a good review because everyone need to be criticised, yeah even music groups. dont get me wrong i love the vines but they have had better days. I thought this review is completely one sided. his voice sounds nothing like kurt cobains and who hasnt been influenced by nirvana? its not a bad thing. the vines are a decent band and this is a decent album.

Ain't heard the album yet but 'Gross Out' is one of the finest song I've heard all year. Fast, spikey and fucked-up. What else do you need from Rock n' roll?

i think this albums pretty well done considering the craig situation and i reckon youve been pretty harsh here and there.

but i do agree with your comment on Gross Out, how it ends before it gets totally awesome, but its still a good song

i personally love Dope Train and Spaceship and i cant wait for a Vines tour *fingers crossed* and where they end up next.

Overly biased review, imo. If you want to review something properly, try not to think about other bands while you listen to it. Review the music for what it is, not what other bands it sounds like.

Hmm, although I don't agree with the review, it's true how this album is not their best.

Honestly, I think this album is like a mix of Winning Days and Highly Evolved. Of course there are great songs like Spaceship but the rest is meh.

I think when they make another album, they should stick with the pattern of either mostly rock or mostly psychedelic rock.

i love the vines,always have,and while this album isn't anything special,it's still solid.
i would think that craig having personal problems had something to do with the generally sub-standard songwriting.
hopefully their next album will pick up where "winning days" left off.

How can anyone listen beyond the first song/single of the album "Anysound"? It's such a mess of a song, the vocals are mind numbingly awful as they painfully move through the two or three chords in the piece. This sort of garbage is what I'm used to hearing at high school talent shows.

(p.s: for any vines fans try to find the song I'm Only Sleeping off of I Am Sam Soundtrack, its a cover of i band i probably know but have never head the orginal version of so i dont know who it is.its better then almost all the songs on this album)

Yeah, they covered some band called The Beatles. Whoever the fuck THAT is.

Anyway, I for one don't mind this record. It's too short, of course, and a bit inconsistent- but it does nevertheless feature some of the best songs of their career IMO.

I'll always love this band.
