Mendeed got my friend pregnant

I had already heard 'The Reaper Waits' on a Metal Hammer CD, and I was addicted to. Honestly, I bought the album just for that track.
On to The bass, well.. As a Bassist, i was Kind of ashamed.
At the begining of 'Beneath a Burning Sky', I was waiting for the Bass to kick in, and.. well it didn't. I was waiting for the classic Metalcore Wall-of-Death effect, With the guitar intro onto a huge Bass and drum explosion, and i never got one.
On a better note, some of the riffing on this Album is Colossal. The drumming in places is a bit over powering, but it levels out as the album goes.
Personally, My favourite tracks are 'Chapel Perilous' and 'Stand as One..', Besides 'The Reaper Waits'.
I reckon this album is worth Checking out.

If these guys are really going to be on the UK Unholy Alliance Tour that will be so awesome. The lineup is basically my favourite bands plus 'Thine Eyes Bleed' who are a decent band as well.

Has anyone seen the music video for Beneath A Burning Sky? Youtube it - these guys are so frickin awesome its simply criminal that they are doing venues as big as my garden when shite like BFMV are selling out halls with their mainstream cliche crap. m/ m/

Did anyone else see these guys at Download - pretty awesome, although the bassist has a really bad looking mohican. The lead guitarist is right on the spot live. Kudos to Mendeed!

Tarantino's - are you going to see them when they tour the UK in November? I shall be there at one of the venues to witness true talent

Ill see about it - Opeth and Dragonforce are in the same month I think and it depends whether Mendeed play in Portsmouth or not. Im not missing Opeth, thats a cert, but Dragonforce I could go without.

Yeah i know what you mean - Opeth reaps Dragonforce completely. Mendeed are playing Southampton Joiners I think... I'm going to try and go to that one. This Message Edited On 07.23.06

I haven't heard the whole album yet, but from what I have heard these guys are amazing. The screaming was the instant hook for me. I really like Ignite the Flames, but that one isn't on this album.

Yeah the screaming is one of the big appeals of this album; Proctor has an incredibly powerful voice. At first, the clean singing didn't seem that great but when you think about it, it is done effectively.
All in all, despite some of the stick this band get, I truly believe they are one of metal's new hopes.

I am guessing they probably will.
The talent on show is immense; as long as they don't end up like Avenged Sevenfold it will be alright...
A "sophomore slump" would also suck.
I think they are signed to Nuclear Blast Records...if so then they should be okay.

No sophomore slump...
Their new album is fantastic (and I'll probably review it), but I'm not so sure what to think about the two songs I've heard from this.
|

The two songs from their new album Ive heard (Burning Fear, Our War) are fantastic technically and are pretty catchy but the clean vox are a touch whiny. Plus the album title sounds a bit dumb IMO.

I have also heard the two songs you just mentioned.
I agree completely - technical and catchy but again the clean vocals can be a bit of a turn off.
I listened to this the other day and it still sounds immense.
