"Blue Eyed Hexe" is pretty cool, but this is no more a Pixies release than a cow's farts is grass.

Trebor you definitely had EP 1 as a 3.5 for some time there

At what point do we stop comparing an artist’s prior body of work with its successors?
Never. Duh.

I actually liked EP1 a good bit on its own merits. Giving this a listen now.

I'm not digging this quite as much. Has a diet Tromp Le Monde feel to it.

EP1 was fantastic. This one's not as great so far. But I'm still enjoying new Pixies on it's own merits.

It's too bad no one ever caught on until the turn of 2014.

It's not bad, I liked the songs on EP-1 more even though it's basically the same style. They're not doing anything really compelling and innovative anymore, which upsets me because they're capable of so much more than just standard rock tracks like these. Hopefully they stop playing it safe for future releases

I'm the only one who's really enjoying Greens and Blues, it would seem.

>the EP’s merits were quickly snatched away when unfair comparisons were made to records crafted over two decades ago.
>“Greens and Blues” just seems too…nice for Pixies

Greens and Blues and Snakes are deserving of your 2.8 but Blue Eyed Hexe and Magdalena are excellent imho.
