I write with flowery language, that's just how it goes (thanks, high school English curriculum!) but I

really do get the sense they're trying to be too epic here, hence my main argument. I'm allowed to

state my major flaw with the album and despite that I think it's good enough for a low 3.5. If I said

"This is good, it deserves a 3.5," that wouldn't be much of a review, would it? And Acad, I think it's

worthwhile to discuss what I assume to be the band's attitude when it totally dictates everything

about the album. Like, listen to 3 or 4 tracks (I'm assuming you have at some point given a non-5

rating) and tell me they're not trying to be grand

the language isn't even that flowery, it's just really descriptive

Never was too keen on these guys.

I liked the review, but I partly agree with Zettel's comment. I don't mind verbose language in general, but the last paragraph is perhaps a bit overkill.

This is enjoyable. Even though it's super shallow.

This didn't age well. Or maybe I didn't.

Listening to that 10th anniversary edition, Fortune Days, Beyond Monday & Between Two Points remain my faves
