Noctus did you like either of their other records? Their recording qualities aren't nearly as bad as this one's. The songs are probably more dynamic, too. The debut is one of my fav BM records :-]

debut was pretty good, didn't like the other one, that one bored the shit out of me
this is sort of growing on me actually but i don't like the first track - second and third are much better

I think it's interesting how a lot of the drive to this album's sound comes from the bass and the static than the one guitar. Relistening to this now, thus the bump.

That average tho

Eh... I think the setup for the album was what got it such weird feedback. Compared to their other albums the guitar here is really hard to hear and doesn't carry the songs as much as it should. Live I think this at least probably stands up to their previous record, but on-tape it's not as impressive as it should've been.

I re-downloaded the 320 of this from their bandcamp and it sounds the same. The content I think is fine, but the guitar isn't loud enough here--especially compared to their first two records. Because of that, it's more drone than bm and that loses it points in my book. If the guitar had more drive it would've been a much better record imo. Having the bass as the main driving rhythm section is an interesting idea here, but the guitar needed more oomph to really function properly as a lead.

bumping my rating back up. Guitar might not be prevalent enough, but the atmosphere is great at just sucking you in. Hypnotic.

Idk you might start to think you're getting sucked into a black hole if you do that. Pretty krieg but I'd rather not get PTSD from a record heh.
