Album Rating: 5.0

Quote: Justin Chancellor is far superior, and his work on Aenima surely proves that.

I wanted to state that Paul D'Amour wrote and was responsible for the bass rifts in Aenima long before Chancellor took on the roll as full time bassist in 96. This became evident when Tool released Aenima's Demo tracks which features Paul D'Amour as bassist because it was Paul who helped write stinkfist, eulogy, h., pushit (Aenima version), and hooker with a penis. I have nothing against Chancellor as he is a good bassist which shows on the album "Lateralus".

Over the years many miss informed Tool fans have slammed Paul and immediately say Chancellors the better bassist without knowing all the facts. There is a reason why Paul D'Amour was getting royalty checks for Aenima.

As of lately I noticed on forums that people and Tool fans are now starting to figure out just how crucial Paul D'Amour rifts were in the formulation of the bands sound and identity.

As you can see, I liked Undertow and Opiate far more than Aenima and the terrible 10'000 days. Lateralus on the other hands was good album. Lateralus was finally when we could see Chancellors style and talent.
