'it sounds like the band has completely run out of ideas'

no it doesn't.

'There's little to no variety in the tracks'

yes, there definitely is. Are we listening to the same thing?

'Cedric's seemingly tired vocal performance'

seriously, what on earth are you talking about? Also, the lyrics here are no more random than on their other albums.

Theodore is a boring/average drummer. Overly simple playing, always hit me as weird in a band like this. Pridgen captures the essence of what TMV is: wild, tight, etc.

I'm not gonna neg, but this review is saying things that are wrong and bizarre.

Nah I don't think there's much variety here, and I really like the record

Def love Pridgen's work on drums though. Part of it comes from watching drums-- you can tell how passionate about it he is thru videos

Also, wonderful review. You could expand on your points a little more, as other guy mentioned, but lovely work here.

Then take up issues with essentially every TMV album title ever

"Then take up issues with essentially every TMV album title ever"

I plan to, but this one in particular always stuck in my craw.

Ollie5 - comments like that are why I don't frequent the site as much anymore.

"Wrong opinions" there are no such thing. I'm sorry that I don't apparently masturbate to this album but after all, the comments in the review are supposed to reflect the rating. If I saw someone give a One Direction album a positive review, despite the fact that I can't stand their music I'm nt going to tell them that they're "wrong". Sigh, so many hipsters and elitists here, but that's to be expected on a site like this.

And having listened to the band since Frances came out here is a huge lack of variety, all the songs sound rushed and thrown together. And Cedric does sound tired and bored. Also, like I stated, Theodore was far I'm simple. Sure he is a bit more straightforward than Pridgen but its for the better. Semi-mindful technicality is just as bad as mindful technicality.

Apparently this site has profound hate for TMV. Haters hate all you like; this is among their finest.

Well written review, pos, but I thoroughly disagree with everything you wrote.

Basically what OllieS wrote and for a minute I thought that the review was written by an "indie" diehard, but it wasn't and that makes it even more difficult for me to understand your arguments.

The album slays hard.

Also, all TMV drummers are first among equals, the band aimed for a different kind of groove from album to album.
