Great album, its good to hear modern punk thats accually good and that doesnt need any screaming to get attention. They just need great songs... and drugs!!! ahh dont we all love the drugs

I actually CAN listen to this, despite the sickening respect they get just because he's a druggie and supposed 'rock 'n roll rebel'. Put it this way, this is a lot better than any Babyshambles stuff.

'Tell The King' is good here. Aside from that, it's kinda average, mostly because it doesn't sound very convincing. And this was a detailed, tbt review. But please, they're not The Clash. No matter what the good 'ol NME says

I cannot understand why people dont think this is a classic. Sure, without the Clash, Buzzcocks and The Jam, Libertines wouldnt even exist.

But if this album was from 1977, 1978, today would be bigger than the Clash's records, or the Nevermind Bollocks, by far.

Album is definitley amazing, maybe you have to be British to truly "get it"?

lol , I just mentioned Doherty in an Iai's review and now I see this conversation of English guys about how amazing/awful the album is.

It's good but not a classic.

Oh wait, I've rated this a 4?

I thought it was 3.. well leave it then, I might have enjoyed it that much the last time I heard it (about a year ago)This Message Edited On 11.10.08

its not a classic but its a 5 from me cos the sound appeals so much. the songwriting isn't perfect all the time, but it's just the general sound of the band that makes it awesome.

My brother said they were by far the best band there. Idk if I trust him though, he was "underwhelmed" by arcade fire.

Well i would say Arcade Fire were slightly better than The Libertines, both bands were awesome though. Brilliant comeback couldnt have went any better

I've always felt this band/album was heavily overrated. Time For Heroes is awesome but the rest is almost totally forgettable for me.
