Still having trouble deciding how much I actually like this...

No trouble here, though I wore it down a bit. I'm also sort of a fanboy so I don't expect equally high ratings from others.
Regardless, saw these guys in a bar last night in Allston, MA with about 30 other people and maybe 6 others that knew the words to the songs. Amazing show. Awesome guys.

I love the last one, but this... I just don't know about it. I decided not to buy it, for now. I will have to come back to it every so often and see if I change my mind. There wasn't really a stand out track at all from the 3 or 4 times I have heard it.

I still don't like it

some really great songs (Boston Square, Tuesday People, Caro Padre) and some really bland/typical songs (Lights, 22)
still appreciate that they're willing to change styles on the whim and play what they like to play

I kinda doubt I will come back to this anytime soon, but I will most likely still be interested in what they do on their next album.

I have so much nostalgia attached to this band because of my 2012 summer (lots of memories were made then and their album, Fools and Worthless Liars, was a soundtrack during that time).
when I hear certain melodies on this album, it takes me back to then, so I'm glad I gave it a shot, haha

I personally think Lights is probably my favorite track on this. I'm a sucker for soaring choruses with good harmonies.

Completely disagree about 22 and particularly subterranean bull**** blues, i think thats one of the strongest songs on an impeccable album. And everybody's dancing has light hearted lyrics? I think you probably need to listen to that one again.

Pretty sure I at least lightly addressed that there was
a deeper meaning to Everybody's Dancing's lyrics!

And as for BS blues, it just kinda bores me. Not bad, just not my thing. Vocals during the verses are awesome though.

I'm about to fly in the face of public opinion here: Although James Veck-Gilodi sounds like he means every word he sings on this album, it made me feel nothing. It's not like he was singing about things I don't understand either. I've been through some of the things that he sings about. However, whilst actually listening, I felt no emotional connection to the songs. Maybe the lyrics are too generic? Perhaps it's a grower, but I'm not inclined to find out to be honest. Having said that, I like the melodies a lot. Should this comment be a sound off? I'm new here.

Hi Adam, welcome to Sputnik! You can voice your options here or the sound off, although sound off is shorter and usually for when albums are first released.
I agree with you, great singer but feel no connection to him recently

Adam, I kind of understand. He really just sound like he's complaining about anything and everything. That said, that's something I relate to strongly because I complain all the damn time. So I dig it.

Still a superb album... in hindsight the lyrics are a bit more generic than I thought at the time, but it doesn't detract from the music much.
