That's true, this was the album that proved to me that Nick Barker was much better than I gave him credit for. Listening to Blessings Upon the Throne of Tyranny, I couldn't believe it was the same guy that played on Dusk and Her Embrace. Plus all of the songs had more variation compared to each other. I just love the heavy keyboard vibes on EDT.

Clean vocals suck.

I don't agree with you on that one, i actually think the clean vox of Vortex are pure art! Just the same goes for PURITANICAL EUPHORIC MISANTROPHIA (Dimmu is good in thinking in 3 words!)

Listen to:

Fear and Wonder

Blessings upon the Throne Of Tyranny

Kings of The Carnival Creation

Hybrid Stigmata - The Apostasy

Puritania

Sympozium

Pefection or Vanity

I love this album. I have yet to hear Enthrone Darkness, i have only heard a couple of songs, and those are really, so i'm assuming its awsome as well. Haha, well, the whole album is good. Except for Architecture. I dont like that song..o.oThis Message Edited On 06.20.07

This album wouldnt be near as good as it is if Nicholas Barker werent manning the drums. Hes a goddamn machine. This is an amazing album, black metal or not, and is my favorite of theirs for sure.

This is hands down Dimmu's best album. I can't understand why some people rip them apart. They are all excellent musicians.

Dimmu Borgir is amazing. All of their albums are great, but this is one of the best, if not the best. It might be a tie between this, Enthrone Darkness Triumphant, and the original Stormblast for the best.

I agree, I kind of randomly picked this up and I am very glad that I did so. If it wasn't for this album, I would not still be into metal.

just got back from the blackest of the black tour. Dimmu fucking owned. Danzig blew a large dick, like I predicted... but dimmu kicked so much ass it blew everything out of the stratosphere... my hands are still shaking.

How the hell can you say that? Vortex's vocals are probably the best part about this band.
