Much, much better than Backspacer. I have a feeling this one will grow on me quite a lot.

St Anger is my least favourite Pearl Jam album. Sounded like a shitty Metallica.

One of the best bands of all time. Vitalogy was my first CD when I was 7. Still have it.

Nice review. Good to read some positive PJ comments.

Some people compare every PJ album to Ten and Vs. and then discard it saying the album lacks urgency or whatever. IMO the band has gone through a couple of natural transitions and they got out great and as a band (that is, not breaking up!); the first started with Yield, where they found a new sound and really let go of the expectations of making a second Ten. The second transition came with Pearl Jam (Avocado), accepting their place in the music industry and not worrying about making progressive new rock but just having fun and making great music.

I listened to LB this morning in the car to work for the first time. I like what I hear, I think it's probably a bit better than Backspacer. Must listen some more though.

Keep up the review work! And BTW, reviews are always subjective that's what it's all about!

"Blaming Eddie Vedder for the existence of Scott Stapp is like blaming the Beatles for 1D."

No, it's more like blaming The Beatles for The Monkees.

Meh...this isn't terrible. Its a solid album from a well established solid band. But its not great either, nothing really stands out or would bring me back to listen again. I'll go right in the middle with this one.

All 3 survivors of the Big 4 have released new stuff, that's pretty cool.

Thanks for the comments and constructive criticism all. It's nice to be able to tentatively try out some writing on a community which reads and considers your points (and grammar and spelling) and reports back with fair points and ways to improve. Y'know? As opposed to just calling you an arsehole.
