its hard for bands to seemingly progress when all people do is compare their old shit to their new shit (this review)

and this reads badly:

"Dream Theater's self-titled album has been both troubling and still giving off signs of hope and progress in comparison to A Dramatic Turn of Events."

Its growing on me. Illumination Theory is by far the best thing on here.

Have to say that when Portnoy left I thought it might be a good thing for the band, but it turns out that he was essential to everything they did well. He certainly wouldn't have let some of these appalling keyboard sounds on to the record.

I don't know who I should take less seriously, Dream Theater or the ratings for an album that hasn't even been streamed for more than 12 fucking hours.

I think the same thing may have happened with Carcass' new release.

The epic is really good but the rest is mostly just alright. Better than the last album but it's probably not gonna be enough to get me back into these guys again.

They've always been trash at making ballads, though this album as a whole is probably better then anything since Six Degrees, especially SC.

i am a dream theater fanboy.... but this is average, seriously disapointed :/ ADTOE was way better.

a 3.2/5 seem fair to me so far.

will give it a couple more spins and hope it will grow on me.

Horrible review. This fascination with being the first person to have a write-up for an album is getting to be beyond a joke now; form proper opinions before trying to publish

But the years since Scenes have changed for Dream Theater. As they went further into their careers, their works began lose something. The group was growing less original and more indulgent, which is a very bad combination. More recent albums, such as Train of Thought, Octavarium, and Systematic Chaos began to sound more generic, over the top, and showed extreme Petrucci-Portnoy dominance in the songwriting. The result was degrading material. And it has been happening for over a decade.

Regardless of the truth of its content, this reads like a 5 year old wrote it

Yeah, the opinions and diction in this review are kinda thrown around without much explanation or deep thought. I wouldn't say horrible or like a 5 year old lol, but it is average compared to your other reviews. I agree that you should avoid trying to get it out first.
