Aussie pop-punk quintet Tonight Alive mature in a predictable, but wise, fashion on 2nd LP 'The Other Side'. Gradually veering towards a more alt-rock style, the tunes here are mainstream accessible, but still hit hard. A little hit & miss when dropping into a mid-tempo pace, the band feel more comfortable rocking out energetically. Either way, enthusiastic & charismatic front-woman Jenna McDougall is the star of the show, meaning the Paramore comparisons will never go away. It may not be ground-breaking, but 'The Other Side' is another likable & catchy release from this young band. Recommended Tracks: Lonely Girl, The Other Side, Complexes & No Different.
