If there was ever a band that WERE NOT posers its Watain. They are more serious about Black Metal than any BM band out there

Good album except one track totally out of place named "They rode on". I wonder what made Erik sing clean vocals on this album. That was a very stupid idea and he failed big time. Bottom line is: if you can't sing, do not pretend you can.

Not that bad, this album.

Masterfully execute.

Some out of place vocal melodies IMHO.

But,i like the timing & used of micro-pause of some of the guitars riffs.

They dare to explore more than many BM bands.

Posers mean nothing because we can argue that the more traditionalist BM bands out there

pose with their low production & past rigor.

Don't misinterpret me. I do like low prod & conformist BM bands also.

This album will, like many other, require a few more partial or full listening sessions.

There is a beautiful BM guitar melody at 3m30s of The Child Must Die track.

Just for that 1m30s, this album deserve the short detour.

I'm not a big fan of clean vocal in BM but I'm willing to give it a honest chance.

And, yes this album can be called their Backwater Park album by reviewer.

Off course, the reviewer IS NOT comparing BP album from Opeth to this album.

He is just bringing similarities of style.

Have a great week-end, extreme music metal Sputnickers.
