"opposites attract do your chemistry homework frippman!"
THANK YOU!

Your polar opposites analogy is scientifically incorrect. I was thanking tommygun for pointing this out.
|
| |
Then the lesson to be learned is, do not make analogies you do not understand or have a working knowledge of. Or, do a little research. Just sayin. :-)

So..... Zappa.... Lumpy Gravy.
|
| |
From what I've heard of this thing, it does lack the zazz other releases have. Although, with his back catalogue there is bound to be a few stinkers in there -luckily I haven't actually invested time in any of the bad ones.

WTF IS THIS YOU DONT EVEN TALK ABOUT THE MUSIC NEGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENEENENENENENENENENEGGGGGGGGG
|
| |
"Lumpy Gravy" actually works better as a piece of music without the intercuts of other recordings, dialogue without a plot ("Civilization Phaze III" used this dialogue better) and the edits required to make it a "new" album for MGM. "Boring"? You clearly know nothing about music. One out of 5? You must be joking.
|
| |
Opinions are subjective, but giving an album of "classical" (for lack of a better term) orchestral music a 1 because it's supposedly "boring" without the use of avant-garde editing which was not originally intended for said album until the composer's rock band's record label frivolously threatened a lawsuit despite the fact that the composer played no music on said record, which was performed by an orchestra. This was the album Zappa originally intended to release, and one he cited as one of the achievements he said he was most proud of.
|
| |
The fact that you think this music is "shit" disqualifies your opinion from being valid. Also, the rating you gave my Rage Against the Machine review? THAT was based on your having a different from mine. My rating was not based on you not liking the album, but that you gave this a "1".

I'm the calmest person here. You are using attacks, name-calling and condescension.

Album Rating: 1.5
I have a feeling this is Thales
|
| |
Album Rating: 1.5
Look at Adam Downer's review of that new Mackintosh Plus album. Thales kept insisting on vaporware not
being a musical subgenre and he went on for pages and pages of comments :P
|
| |
Album Rating: 2.0
I don't know about a 1, but I guess I agree with this. I do like the recurring "Oh No" theme however.
|
| |
Album Rating: 2.0
This album seriously should have ended 6 minutes into itself.
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
Obviously not for the virgin Zappa listener, this album makes more sense when you have heard many of the others. If you don't get his sense of humor, and it is getting dated,, then I can see how this album makes no sense, which is kind of the point. But, in the right frame of mind this album is great.

Album Rating: 1.5
"Objectively wrong"
strike one
"Frank said this was his favorite"
cite source, or strike two, especially considering the Verve version is far superior and it came to be due to Frank being disappointed with the Capitol version
"What is wrong with you"
that's a good way to ensuring you won't get a decent answer to your questions if being condescending is a way to refute a subjective argument towards an album's merits. Also, being a composer doesn't grant you some kind of authority over someone else's work. Strike three. You're out.
