After the abysmal and depressing Something For the Rest of Us, it's nice to see Johnny happy again. Turns out he was battling depression, and drinking a lot, and was generally angry at the world. He got sober, and found his happy gene again.

I've been a fan since Superstar, and seen them live 6 times. I agree their sound has changed, mellowed, and the rock guitars are almost nonexistent, but they still manage to write songs that work. I also wish they'd have more Robby songs, like on older releases.

All in all, I'm enjoying it more and more.

Favorites: "Last Hot Night In America", "Keep the Car Running", "Bringing On the Light", and "Rebel beat". Looks like I may have to go to the show here in Dallas!

"Rebel Beat" sounds like a Maroon 5 song from Songs About Jane. Compared to "Black Balloon" or "Iris", it's pretty soft.

I actually really don't like "Rebel Beat" as much as some of the other songs on here. "Caught in the

Storm" just throws everything at the wall instrumentation wise, "Keep the Car Running" is also pretty

good. The back half of this album probably plays better than the first half...which is an unusual

thing to happen nowadays

This album is pretty cliche, and I know the band can be more creative than this..... But I dunno, it's just so catchy got damn it. And the band's still got lots o' talent
