2 is a bit harsh I think. My friend just showed me this album. Without hearing any of the bands previous releases, I was ready to 3.5 this. I think the 2s are harsh and are taking too much into consideration this bands past releases. I'll try out a few of their past releases now.

Yeah, Everything that Dragged You Here kicked this release's ass so hard. I guess I was kinda sick of the whole Real Friends mantra and they followed up with a quintessentially uncreative release, but there's probably some value here I'm missing.

It's not the vocalist that does the lyrics it's their bassist Kyle Fasel. In my opinion, Real Friends could be so much better without him. Having seen them live and watched live videos from them, I think it's safe to say Kyle craves attention. He's always using the mic to talk or singing along in front of the main singer. It's like all he ever wanted was to be the lead singer but never could because he can't sing and now he wants us all to know he's the one behind the lyrics and shit. ETDYH was awesome, I wish they would try someone else to write lyrics and expand on themes other than breakups and being lonely. I don't think dropping the bassist would be a bad loss for the band.
