4th fav for me too, however it does have 2 of my top 3 BT tracks. My fav is probably Six/Nine nowadays, mainly because it's something that just can't be recreated live for the most part and the music videos are iconic along with it being a brilliant album.

Dress is absolutely gorgeous. Perhaps one of their best choruses... but then there are a lot of those.

Dress is top 3 BT, album just destroys. How Godly is Madman Blues though?

Between Dress, Madman Blues and die, the second half of this entire album is incredible. Yuuwaku is something else too.

I know you're not the biggest fan but I adore Zero so much, perfect rhythmic experimentation by them. That solo is in my top 3 BT solos as well.

Have I said that in the past then? Heh, my crappy memory strikes again. Zero's pretty good, really interesting rhythms as you said.

Makes me think how many awesome bass lines U-ta started to deliver since Kurutta, especally Kurutta to Six/Nine.

The whole Kurutta-Six/Nine run is another level, and Cosmos is still superb as well to follow it up.

If there's anyone I can count on to deliver a couple of pages of comments on J-rock, it's Evo and Infinity

This was basically my bid introduction to Buck-Tick and I was pleasantly surprised by how-well they balance left and right stirs with the style on any given song yet still maintaining their balance on the core sound. And with chockfull of catchy melodies which is like the Holy Grail of doing this sort of music in a language that most of the world doesn't speak

Haha, always here to help! My first Buck-Tick was typical, namely Kurutta Taiyou.

The taste for Kurutta for me came way later. But when it came, it came to stay. I've always particularily liked Sakura for it's melancholic leads juxtaposed against a driving rhythm but the whole record actually has got pretty top-notch writing and I dare even say amazing production for this style, really brings the album together.

I'm a simple man: I see Buck Tick, I comment :3

Imo this would be a pretty bad introduction, album as a whole is really weird and peculiar with its sounds. Mine was Kurutta as well, but I really didn't get obsessed with them until 13kai/Kurutta clicked and I watched the evolution of BT video on Youtube. You watched that Captain?

Yeah the whole Angelfish-Brain run is another level of songwriting which to my eyes almost no band has ever touched, and yeah the production on Kurutta is stunning.

No, I haven't. I stumbled upon Buck-Tick around the time I was developing a counter-productive habit of trying to listen to a new band in chronological order, which is very often a mistake. I didn't get any kicks at all from their earlier romantic-pop-punk-whatever beginnings and the first thing that clicked from start to finish was DTD. Right from the first track, which sort-a had this trip-hop feel to it and those wonderfully reversed guitars really grabbed my attention and it all just got better from there.

I did immensely enjoy the re-recording of Aku No Hana on This Is Not Greatest Hits prior to that, but I was still only developing the taste for BT.

And yeah, 13kai was instrumental in hooking me up, too. I came across a few clips from that live DVD they did on the 13kai tour and it really clicked. After that I've found the strength to actually return to the whole catalogue. Still, it's pretty huge and I'm sure I've missed something.
