Charli is like an alternate universe Lorde who was told at 14 she was going to the next British pop superstar and then it fell through so now she's older and cagey and pissed

but also this album is so cliche that it hurts
and she can't sing
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0
No she can't sing but I like her delivery
As far as it being cliche, it's just her doing pop music in her own way bleak, sarcastic because she's disillusioned as far as I can tell. It's going to be cliched but it's the way she interprets the cliche is what's interesting.

it's not her though it's the structure of the songs. you can hear every hook coming from a mile away. same with every chorus, every drum break, every slow down. I dunno, it feels pretty hollow to me.
