"I feel like we really want this to be better than it is"
maybe - heard it once know and it sounds good: some great moments and some less interesting parts. We'll see how/if it grows

Big fan of Maxinquaye but their other stuff lack of the same quality, still he has some good material and I'm goinf to check this one.

Really nice review as usual Hernan. You've mentioned wanting some feedback before, would you like some now?

Though interestingly enough, the sole concept behind False Idols
Interestingly enough*
Musically, False Idols was regarded, by Tricky himself,
You should use present tense here, as he does still regard it. This isn't a huge deal, though-- just makes more sense to me (and an easier read) in the present.
we find Tricky operating quietly in the background
This could be stronger if you just came out and said "Tricky operates quietly in the background," etc etc.
I was truly mesmerized by the lyrics in this track, particularly Tricky's exploration of Nietzschean ideology, in that our prayers for refuge remain unheard because our "God is real sick." A lot of the lyrical topics discussed in False Idols tend to reflect a perpetual influence from existentialism and nihilism, but there's also various nods to beatnik thematics, such as sexuality ("Valentine") and a nihilistic attitude towards life ("I'm Ready").
Just want to say I fucking love this part. Nobody expected you to tie in philosophy with this review, yet you did it! Haha, props.
This is easily some of your best work, Hernan-- especially because you went out of your comfort zone so subtly. If I saw this review without understanding your tastes in music, I would've never known you're less familiar with this genre. And that shows how much of a knack you have for this, and how much you deserve this lovely Staff tag we acquired not so long ago. =]

"Yeah dude, you had nothing to worry about. Like Aids said, you didn't spend any significant amount of the write-up trying to be technical about genre specifications etc (which, if you're not familiar with you should always avoid); you just talked about the atmosphere of the album more so than the atmosphere an album of this genre is supposed to have. You described it well man"
holy shit is that what i think it is? deviant....giving.....a compliment?!?!

Good review man. The album was a pleasant surprise for me. My only gripe is that Parenthesis seems somewhat out of place, and really doesn't sound all that different to The Antlers' original.

I wouldn't really call it a harkening back to his earlier stuff. It's way more chill than some of his
stuff, I dig it. There is definitely a polish and quality sound that comes from someone that knows
what they are doing.

Didn't realize that before now, kinda a sad role to have.
Really love this, especially towards the end.

I've been really enjoying this album since it came out. As somebody else who isn't huuugely familiar with the trip-hop genre, you covered this material well, not that I'd expect anything less.

Thanks Jash. I appreciate the feedback.
@TM and Fourth
It's really great. I've been jamming "If Only I Knew", "Is That Your Life" and "Passion Of The Christ" all day. There's various good ones, but these are the one's I've had on my head.
