every mention of 'sean bonnet' in the first three paragraphs of this review could be replaced with 'nathan williams' and be a useful critique of wavves, which shows i guess the amazing diversity of music criticism on the internet

but just the sheer emotional distance between the content of this review and the content of the album is enough for me to write this off as hackwork, so im not getting to worked up about it

emotional distance? maybe he thought it was try hard or that the emotion really fell flat on itself (I wouldn't know, I didn't read the review), both of which are valid criticisms.
